July 9, 2008. After 4 years of research and development, testing and validation, Sopogy breaks ground on Phase 1 of the Keahole Solar Power MicroCSP solar farm. VIPs included Governor Ariyoshi, Legislative Representative Karamatsu, Representatives from the County of Hawaii, the Natural Energy Laboratories and Sopogy, Inc. Keahole Solar Power
Keahole Solar Power is a Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) renewable energy farm located at the Natural Energy Laboratory of Hawaii on the Big Island. KSP is SopoPowered by Sopogy's MicroCSP concentrating solar panels. These MicroCSP panels use reflectors and optics to harness and focus the energy from the sun to create clean, renewable power for the Big Island. Sopogy is a Hawaii company that began in Kona and is bringing its Hawaiian technology to the global marketplace.
